Abstract
The article analyzes the dynamics of the real sector of the industry of the Russian Federation for a long period (1970-2014 gg.). Among them are mining (oil, gas, coal, iron ore) and processing: chemical, pulp and paper, wood processing, machine building and other industries that have always been the basis of economic development of our country.. Quite a long period of time revealed a general trend, which is characteristic for almost all of these sectors:. During the recovery in 1970 and early 1990, a sharp decline in the 1990s (often up to 2000) and a slight increase, characteristic to the crisis in 2008 The lowest rates of production typical for industries with high added value (engineering) and only a very few show a marked increase (food industry). This suggests the need to launch new economic cycle based on the "old" industries examined, as well as the need to support the new economy and, for example, - nanotechnology and biotechnology.
