AbstractThe article presents the results of the study the most urgent problems of development of the food processing industry of the Russian Federation. It is established that the industry today there are a number of problems, especially with the use of ineffective instruments of state policy in the field of agro-industrial complex of the country, and unsustainable use of biological resources. In the industry there is the obsolescence of industrial capacity and low degree of automation, marked by a lack of qualified specialists. The measures to address the identified problems and improve the performance of enterprises in the food processing industry.
