Abstract
The article presents the analysis of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation in 2015, the current Account and financial account had a positive balance. However, the income of foreign investors in Russia exceed the earnings of the Russian abroad. Basically the activities of foreign investors is concentrated in the non-manufacturing sector, which is clearly insufficient for economic development. This, as well as the small volume of capital investments of foreign investors refutes the common view on foreign investment as the locomotive of Russian economic growth.
