Abstract
The basic principles of the contingency approach to management of the organization are considered in the article. Relying on the results of studies in the contingency approach, conducted by different researches, the author compares the operation of specific companies, taking into consideration situational differences between them. The paper presents conclusions about the possibilities of application of examined theoretical propositions to the practice of modern companies.
