CREATING OPTIMUM CURRENCY AREA BASED ON EEU

Abstract
Relevance of the topic is due to the intensification of global and regional integration processes, as well as the need to protect the national economy from globalization negative influence; benefits for Russia and other countries participating in the currency area from creating a single currency in the region; the need to develop new methods of creating monetary unions. The article is devoted to the feasibility of establishing the optimal currency zone, basic optimality criteria are revealed. The purpose of this paper is to estimate the compliance associations of the countries with the participation of Russia to criteria of optimum currency areas and offer recommendations. It’s concluded that the existing alliances of countries don’t meet the OCA requirements, a plan for creation of OCA with Russian participation was proposed.
