Abstract
This article discusses the similarities and differences with respect to single-industry towns of economic, social and environmental aspects of the example of cities Gukovo and Leninsk-Kuznetsky, specializing in the coal industry. The analysis investigated the causes of single-industry towns and prospects for their further development of the existing problems.
