Abstract
This article focuses on the development of small businesses in the rural economy of the Russian Federation. The article deals with the problems of small business development in the agricultural sector, and methods of their solutions. Analyzing small businesses in agriculture, it can be concluded that the activity of agriculture is complicated by the specifics of the industry. The main task of agriculture is to provide food to the population of the country, and a sufficient number of processing industry of agricultural raw materials. State support of small businesses helps increase the competitiveness of small businesses in total opposition to the import.
