Abstract
The article reveals the content of the concept «quality of education» in the modern scientific researches. It presents a description of the approaches to concept definition and usage, its specifics in the different systems of quality assessment. Particular attention in the article is paid to approaches, which are based on relativism and objectivism, internal and external assessment, assessment from the point of view of subjects. The main content of this research is a study and analysis of practical importance of the considered definitions. The author concludes that the obtained material allows to define main characteristics of modern education.
