Abstract
During the acute phase of the current global economic crisis, the international community has repeatedly accused the government of Russia to a high level of protection of agri-food market. Protectionism in Russia in 2008-2010 was not specifically Russian phenomenon, but on the level and number of protective measures are often inferior to the practice of developed countries. Comparative analysis of the economic policy of Russia and foreign countries shows that the agricultural sector has become one of the highest priorities for protectionist efforts of the governments of developed countries.
