Abstract
Modern conditions for the functioning of universities has exacerbated the problem of sustainability of the universities, as it has ceased to be guaranteed, and put it in the category most relevant. Universities tend to be popular and modern, resistant to new market conditions, to go not just in step with the times and be proactive. How sustainable the University to the influence of external factors, depends for its further development.
The article discusses various methodological approaches to the study of stability of socio-economic systems in General and universities in particular. Are the views of many researchers of this field and the author's position regarding the sustainability of higher education as a social-economic system.
