Abstract
Economy development of the state and also its separate regions largely depends on socio-economic development of a particular type territory - monotowns. Therefore, the problem of managing of economic modernization of monoprofile municipalities is particularly relevant today. The article reveals the essence of the category "monotown", reflects the main problem of such settlements, represents domestic and foreign experience to solve problem of monotown’s management.
