Abstract
The article reviews roots, origins, and spreading of bank crisis. Certain general signs of bank crisis were highlighted. Bank crisis stems from credit expansion periods and market booms. Although the dark side of credit expansion are bad credit portfolios, overestimated credit coverage, higher credit risks. 1998, 2008, and 2014 Russian bank crisis discussed.
