ANALYSIS OF THE DYNAMICS OF QUANTITY OF MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES IN THE FEDERAL DISTRICTS AND THE LARGEST MEGAPOLISS OF RUSSIA IN 2008 – 2016

Abstract
The article examines the trends in the number of medium-sized enterprises in Russia, in the context of federal districts. Detailed information is provided on the number of medium-sized enterprises in the federal districts for the period from 2008 to 2016. There is a general reduction in the number of medium-sized enterprises in the Russian Federation. Federal Districts and one megalopolis have been identified, in which there is an increase in the number of medium-sized enterprises. Cluster analysis of federal districts and megacities on the average number of enterprises and average annual growth rates has been carried out, and one hundred has made it possible to systematize federal districts into four clusters.
